Ok, a bit expensive.
Liked the open air onsen. It was snowing that morning, it’s really beautiful. We liked the room very much.. had the mixed modern and tatami room. It’s really very nice and big. Comfortable for a family of 4-5. Good parking spaces.
Quite disappointed with the buffet spread. Not much of choices. Sometimes plates were empty, and not refilled. Has limited tables to accommodate the guests. Only have one coffee machine and the queue is very very very loooong.. they should really do something about this. I think there are shortage of staff as well, as tables are not cleaned immediately after diners left. The staff are also not friendly, especially the one at the entrance. Not sure why.

What was the highlight of Senomoto Kogen Hotel
A bit too expensive for the experience they offer.
The Location is perfect. Daikanbou, a famous sight around Aso is about 20 minutes around. TBH, other factors were a bit bad for the pricing.
The food was buffet styled which was just mediocre. Nothing special. The room was clean but didnt have a shower eventhough there was a spa outside. had a rough time with the outdoors spas being pretty far.

The open air oneen experience is exceptional, and is the highlight of the stay. The free flow alcohol drinks are delight
The open air onsen, the spacious surrounding and the scenery.
The star gazing could have been presented with English (eg English annotation on the slides) so that travellers from other countries can join the activity. Otherwise, it is better to indicate clearly on the signage that this is only in Japanese.
